Jam Cruise 20: Day 4 Recap

We started day 4 getting off the boat and heading to 7 mile beach in Grand Cayman. We relaxed on the beach eating fried fish and jerk chicken, jumping in the ocean, and let the sun energize us before we headed back to the boat.

Our Music journey started with The New Mastersounds 2nd set, this time on the pool deck! A standout moment for me was Lamar Williams Jr. Coming out for the Allman Brothers Aint Wasting No More! The Allman Brothers were my first live jam band I saw and I never would have expected NMS to cover it ever!

From there we went to Everyone Orchestra and these were the notes I kept.

  • Ivan Neville (keys)
  • The Horn Section
  • Michaelangelo Carubba (Cool Cool Cool drummer)
  • Eggy guitarist
  • Duane Betts
  • Adryon De Leon
  • Random other girl singer
  • Brett McConnell (Bass)
  • Mike D and Moe percussionist
  • Extra Keyboardist for song 2 with Ivan
  • Nikki Glaspie Joined on drums song 3
  • Marc brownstien and Kanika Moore join for song 4
  • Brett back to bass with Brownie song 6

Another really great Jam Cruise Everyone Orchestra set. Heard many around the boat singing the improvised song lines that Matt Butler and company made up!

From there we set up in the jazz lounge for Shira Elias‘s set! Her theme was bringing up many of her friends to sing the songs they love. Many covers kept coming including

  • You got it Bad – Usher
  • Say You’ll be There – Spice Girls
  • Ordinary Love – Sade (Adryon GOD DAMN)
  • You’ve got a Friend – James Taylor
  • Them Changes – Thundercat

Along with many others.

From there we made our way to the Pantheon Theater for the 2nd round of Franc Moody. This time the crowd was PACKED and the band fed off that energy. It was the same setlist as the pool deck stage but still delivered a fun show.

1:45am rolled around and we had our last official show of the night The Purple Party! We danced the night away to the music of Prince with a star studded band.

We limped our way into the jam room for a few songs to finish our night which was being run by Duane Betts and Cris Jacobs.

Come back for day 5 tomorrow!
